At the Canteen

Canteen is a short TTRPG that can be standalone for mini play sessions or can function as a storytelling tool for either backstory or interlude in wider sci-fi TTRPG games. It plays with 3 or more players and a 6-sided die. No game master is necessary for this system. This game is designed to be printed in an eightfold zine format.

This game gives some structure to the boasts that come from sitting down in any watering hole or dive across the galaxy. Every captain thinks their ship is the best. Every captain thinks that their crew is the most skilled. But now, you have to prove it by regaling your fellow bar patrons with tales of your derring do, tales that they have the ability to challenge. The only thing to win from this game is bragging rights, but bragging rights can mean a lot when the reputation of you and your crew is on the line.
