You discover the husk of a dead and abandoned ship floating through the space between planets. Intrigued about what had stranded it here, you board and are able to get the computers up and running. There are some logs left by the captain, progress reports on the mission of the vessel that now hangs dormant in space all around you.

This is a soloplay one page game that uses a standard deck of playing cards to help you fill out the captain’s logs of this dead and decaying spaceship and figure out what tragedy befell it. The narrative is created in retrospect, with you journaling the events on the spaceship even though in the present of the game, you have the foreknowledge of its inevitable destruction. It does deal with some themes of mass death, mass illness, warfare and siege, and a general feeling of futility, so be aware of that going in. It is a game about the tribulations of trying to brave one of the most hostile environments in all existence.

hi! I’m doing this jam too so it was really interesting to see how you did it using cards! However I was reading through and you don’t give a threshold for failure. Eg, if I pull a number 2 card do I fail or a 5card? How will I know when to add a failure or a success or even a no point?

Other than that confusion I think your concept is awesome and I will be trying to find my deck of cards to give it a go!

I am so sorry about the bug. Thank you so much for bringing to my attention that I just never inserted the card number thresholds at all! It should be fixed now in V2. I hope that this can help make the game more enjoyable and playable!

it looks like an awesome game, I wil certainly be playing it!
